Vaillant Ecomax 824/2e Pressure Variance

Hi. We've got a Vaillant Ecomax 824/2e Condenser Boiler.
The pressure gauge went down almost off the green, so i re-pressurized to between the top and bottom of the green area.
When the heating came on the pressure went up higher than i'd seen it so i reduced it to 2bar. When the heating cooled down the pressure dropped back down to below 1bar.

I have a thought that there might be some air in the system.

Any ideas?.

Sounds like your Expansion vessel needs re-charging have a look at the FAQs on here on how to do it but follow all the instructions you can not short cut it no matter what you think

Thanks very much, we do have a service contract on it but I wanted to be sure that it was not something silly.

The big question now is: is it safe?
