Hi all

I have the above type boiler with ambi sense thermostats operated via the app and all has been well for last few months however today whilst offline outside of the desired time schedule some of the radiator valves were turning on

I looked at the manual controller which I was told was not to be used and I put in a cupboard and all I could think of is that the set back temperature on this controller say 18 deg would kick in a radiator even when not programmed to come on if that room dropped below this temperature

Does this sound correct?

also my main controller when put in auto was turning the system off so I have left the setting in Day mode

can anyone please advise thanks

Hi yes I do the installer told me to ignore it and run the system form the app

the only thing I noticed was the day time heating temp was 21 deg which was above one or two of the ambi radiators but I presumed outside of the timer programme this would not take any effect?
I did change the day time temp in settings to 16 deg but it defaults back to 21 even if I change it via the menu and not the rotating knob

thanks Lee

In the '700 installer level (passcode 000), system config. What do you currently have for:
  • Room Temp Modulation
  • Zone Assignment (near the bottom of the list)
The '700 will display the highest called for room temp, as set on the Ambisense. If you change it on the '700, the '920 will overwrite the settings after a short period. This temperature is used by the '700 to calculate the required flow temperature, based on the outside temperature sensor and configured heat curve.

Hi went into installer settings

heating 1 section

room temperature modulation set to none

Zone 1 section

zone assignment without

when I went to the controller this morning it had desired temp at 21 deg I changed it back to 16 deg and looking at now when the evening setting has come on it’s back to 21 deg

in timer programme in zone 1 which dips the heating programme the timer is set for 6 am to 10 pm but my ambi app is 6 to 9 and 4 to 7 and it is following that programme and when on the vr700 displays day mode and when off if I go to the boiler the status is off summer setting

should I delete the timer programme in the vr700

thanks for your help here

The vr700 program doesn't matter. The 21° is coming from something set in the Ambisense.

So if all the ambi sense are set to 22 deg say the heating should only come on to that radiator that drops below 22 deg during the timer programme and of course heating the two radiators with no thermostatic valves

other than that there’s a fault would you say?

It's not as black and white. The VR700 will show "off" unless the VR920 is calling for heat. The VR920 will call for heat if the temperature is below the set point of any room yes, but also if the temperature is falling towards a set point and/or rising slightly above it.

The highest configured room temperature of any ambisense zone will be shown on the VR700 if the VR920 is calling for heat. This is used to offset the heating curve, i.e. if you raise the room temp from 20.5 to 22 for a room then the flow temp would also be increased from say 40 to 45° (the exact numbers will depend on the outside temperature and the curve set).

The VR700 timers are not used.
