Hello all,

Am having some problems (F22 warning comes on repeatedly - dry fire low pressure) with my ecotec plus 624 boiler.

I have drawn the set up below and would appreciate if someone could see if it has been installed incorrectly?

1) note the boiler expansion tank in loft - is this required?

2) If I were to fit a filling loop where should this go?

thanks in advance...

This is a system boiler and as such shouldn't have a f&e tank fitted.

I assume you have fitted this yourself?

As Gas4you has stated, for the set up that you have, the 624 is completely the wrong boiler... It is for use in sealed systems. the boiler is expecting a minimum water pressure which your set up will never achieve..... Oops

thanks chaps.

Was installed by a plumber who was recommended, but was clearly a cowboy.

So it seems that the f&e tank needs disconnecting & a filling loop needs fitting to pressurise the system.....

You'll need a little more than that to pressurise the system such as a Pressure Relief valve, the expansion vessel should be inside the boiler and so should the filling loop..... And a guy with a G3 ticket would be good. If you try it yourself and get it wrong, then it could really put a crimp on your day...

Hope you haven't paid the guy who intalled it, he sounds like a prize muppet

CG, why the G3, says a normal vented cylinder.

The CWS ball valve should not be on the same cistern as the outlets.

I would suggest employing a proper RGI to check everything out for you.

If he has made a total hash of the basics, god knows what he may have done with the gas etc

Agreed that I need someone proper to sort this mess out.

Trouble is finding someone reliable.

Will try some numbers from the Vaillant website tomorrow....

Any such approved plumbers who work in London get in touch if interested

Twgas, Forgive me, I'm wrong on the G3 requirement... Doh!

Plombageball, I'm from oop North so I'm afraid that the callout charge would be horrendous.. There are lots of very good guys here from the London area so I hope that you get this mess sorted soon

probably best to post your actual location. London is a big place!
