Vaillant EcoTec Pro F75 fault

Is the water in the heating system clean?

If you bleed a radiator, what colour is the water that comes out?

Is it clear, or black, or brown?

The pumps seals going will have nothing to do with the pressure sensor. It is a manufacturing fault that has been a problem on the Ecotec range of boilers.

To confirm... the pump seal going is a manufacturing fault or the pressure sensor going?

The guy isn't coming around until late Friday evening, the last thing I want is him not coming with the right parts to get the boiler working. I don't think he is too hot on the Vaillant boliers as he had to look in the manual....anyway do you think I should ask him to bring along a replacement pressure sensor as well just in case replacing the pump doesn't work?

He said there was alot of pressure in the pump....and he did get covered in water when he opened it up....does that indicate that the pump is the problem? Along with the F75 code... is it all pointing towards my pump being broken now? And the sensor could all be fine?

It is pointing to this bloke being an idiot

No problems in looking things up in the instructions, we all probably do that for some boilers, but for him to get wet fiddling with the pump

Personally my money is on the pressure sensor, but then I'm not in front of the boiler.

Is this the bloke who said 2.5 hrs to change the pump? Perhaps it is 30 mins to change the pump and another 2 hours for him to dry off

Have you been given a price for the work this muppet is doing? He only needs to change the head of the pump. I would question my ability if it took me longer than about 10mins. You can strip these things bare and rebuild them in an hour. Could well be the cause of the F75, as its not the seal to the manifold thats leaking as people often believe. They leak from an internal O ring which gets crud on it, and the water gets into the dry part of the pump, this can severly affect the motor operation. If the pressure sensor is a problem it can often just be cleaned out. I carry one anyway as its generic amongst a number of appliances

Ok, the update is as follows:
Man come to change the pump, which took about half an hour (he only changed the front part...and left me the back bit in case I needed it in the future) so I thought...happy days!
He left, and then we had water coming through the celing. Upon inspection it seems that the rubber pipe on the left hand side of the boiler (attaches two copper pipes together) has split open.....totally split! Any ideas on what causes that? Man coming back tonight to sort...I need to get a part tho, do you know what part that is at all??????

Update part 2....went to car shop brought rubber hose replacement for £2! Spent about 2 hours fitting it back into the bolier...but I am now sorted. I have hot water and Heating and I have money left in my pocket! Thanks for all your help and replying to me! You've been a great help!
