Vaillant Ecotec Plus 831. 2005.

Engineer changed the pump today. At least the electric motor and impeller (?).

But not the plastic body at the back of it. The one with the connections and the AAV.

I know he didn't because he left the new one behind, along with the old motor.

As far as I can tell the only moving part in the black plastic housing thing is the float in the AAV.

Does it matter that he's left the old one on? Maybe easier for him and better for me not to have the joints disturbed? And I've got a spare AAV if the old one goes west (how would I tell?).

Thanks.

Quite normal to only change the pump head.

Saves time and avoids disturbing joints.

Also gives you a spare AAV top.

Thanks Tony, that's what I thought. I'll put it in my box of boiler bits for if the AAV goes.
