Hi

Ive got a vaillant ecofit pure 830, with a sensocomfort vr720 and the smart TRV VR50. A couple of the TRVs have failed and I see the company has discontinued. https://www.vaillant.co.uk/product-systems/smart-controls/ambisense/

Does anyone know if they are going to replace this product, and if so when
Or if they arent what woudl be the best SMART TRV system to replace then with, I realise that unfortunately this boiler isnt opentherm and I do want, if I can, the same level of control that EEBUS gave

Many thanks

I've got exactly the same question - I have 13 VR50s so not overwhelmed that Vailllant have discontinued these with no apparent replacement.

Yeah Vaillant have left a lot of customers high and dry, when their VR50s break thats it (ive had several break). Surprised that such a major company could behave so poorly. The opentherm bugs me too, in europe you have to have opentherm, so vaillaint does, which means you can use many control systems. My boiler can be chipped with opentherm, but if you do vaillant invalidates your warranty.

Ive moved over to honeywells evohome, which works well, although there can be a 5 min lag due to how my boiler works.

I'll be glad when this boiler blows up and I can get a new one which will be anything apart from Vaillant

I think you can get a VR33 OpenTherm module - I can't see how that would invalidate the warranty - was that what you were mentioning or is the 'chipping' more third party than that? I'm 2 years into a 10 year warranty so don't want that! VR33 difficult to source in the UK though.

My concern with even the Honeywells - which do look like they can 'call for heat' unlike all the other smart TRVs is just how it works with the Weather Comp / Heat Curve algorithms in the Vaillant.

My boiler guy said, vaillant make the module, but only use it in europe and invalidates the warranty in Uk, Im 2/10 years like you so unwilling to do that
where they discuss it

Yeah the honeywells and the weather comp I cant see working, although I used to get the boiler would turn itself on in the middle of the night, which I think was related to the weather comp, so am glad it doesnt do that anymore
