Vaillant - top up??

Evening,

the girlfriend needs to top up her heating system as all the rads upstairs are half empty. and there is no pressure to bleed any more air out,

where is the topup loop, i expected to find a ball valve or alike but all the inlet / outlets are very simlar and i couldnt work out which was which!?

can anyone help me out?

Top pic, top right. The small silver braided pipe in the top right corner hopefully will connect either end of the filling loop.

This is the screw. You might find it's very stiff so you need a strong screwdriver, with a 6-8mm blade.
Yours, in the blue position, is (nearly) closed. Turn it to the green posn to open (try it in small movements then back again to see how it works).
return to "vertical" to turn off.
 
Or even easier in the top picture on the top right there are two square brass blocks with screws in the middle.

Move those two screws until the slots face front/back and the boiler should fill.

Turn off by rotating 90° to face side to side when the pressure gauge is 1.5 Bar.

Chris got there first but in his haste forgot to say that both screws need to be turned!

I think that he may also have got the on/off angles mixed up ( but I could be wrong! )

I always struggle to remember on these boilers :roll:
