vaillant turbomax 242 e heating problems

hello i have a problem on the heating side the boiler fires up when stone cold but only for about 30 seconds reaching about 30 degrees then shuts down and dosent restart i can make it fire by holding down the limit switch on the diverter valve and it then runs to temp but once i release it it shuts off ive tryed bypassing the low temp sensor by linking the wires will no joy can anyone help please

check the servo valve is closing properly they tend to stick

if it dosen't close properley the diverter wont either

i have no probs with the water side though could it still be th diverter valve

just checked the servo valve that looks fine it closes when the heating shuts down

how do i check the temp sensors

I have exactly the same problem - what was the outcome - how do I fix it ?

It might only happen twice a week

Did you check the servo visually or did you check that the micro switch changed electrically?

I haven't checked anything yet but given that Hardtail had EXACTLY the same problem as I have, I was hoping he could just confirm what he needed to do to rectify the problem.

As it turns out, we haven't had the problem for the past week but I don't want to get caught out on Christmas week or worse still, when snow starts falling in Jan / Feb
