Second LPG ravenheat in two days, only this is a 100te, gone to boiler heaven, ive fallen out with WB (technical issues) so wont replace with one of theirs and cant make the grey matter up as who to go for in the above.

This is in a permanent caravan type dwelling, you know the prefab sort, advice on good and bad point with these makeschaps.

cheers

Not to annoy baxpoti, but I prefer Vaillant, others may differ!

The Vaillant range of boilers are very reliable and need no lpg kits to change from NG. In fact don't even bother with the extra expense of the LPG versions, buy the NG version and adjust co2 to 10% with case off or 10.2% with case on. I have fitted many in these sort of static mobile homes, all with no comebacks except yearly service

Whats the ecotecpro like then Dave, im thinking of a 28 asthe lady has a mixer shower. heating system is only five rads :?:

The best one to go for is the ecotec plus 831. Ecotec pro is a budget version with single speed pump, 1 year warranty etc and is primarily designed as a contract combi for new build market.

It's the only Vaillant I wouldn't fit

When commissioning the boiler you can set the rad output to what you need in this case probably about 9Kw via the D 0 setting on the diagnostic display board.

The only thing to watch out for is once you have filled up you need to let the boiler purge its self via the P 0 setting to remove any air out of the heat exchanger. Never just fill up and fire up with these

 Cheers Dave ill look at the spec onthe vaillant site, was thinking 831 overkill, :!: ill check it out though £760 before discount seems good enough reason

boiler output settings now iam sold.

sorry baxpoti youdid'nt get a lookin on this one

There's not much more flow than a 28Kw combi, as I say don't worry about the rad heat output, just set it low.

If you need any more help after deciding to go this route you can email via my profile

nice one fella

Vaillant have taken a recent slump in my opinion, the latest ecoteq range is not a patch on the prevoius ecomax. I installed and Ecoteq837 plus today for a customer as it was the first time I have not been aboe to get an Ecomax and was not overly impressed it. Not a patch on the new WB range and even some of the latest Baxi's

Thanks HG, must say i'am biased to WB myself but fell out with them last week, so intend to install another brand for a couple of months.

Just to show them the little boys can play big boys games too.

Wouldn't touch Worcester with a bargepole - very overrated. Spent 1 1/2 hours today doing the annual service on a Greenstar Junior. WB3 heat exchanger takes forever to clean out. It was corroding quite nicely too around the lower baffle :( .

Perhaps you should check the service procedure to replace/cleanout the safety valve or plate exchanger on this boiler - one to avoid. None of my customers have saved a bean after service costs are taken into account (gaskets, FGA and all that)

Can you post a link to the "falling out"? if its really their fault then we need to know!

There are always two sides to any disagreement. I like to keep an open mind and as a well balanced libran think I am very fair!

BMW's, Mercades, Porche, Bentley, Audi are all great cars but have high service costs................pay your money and take your choice.

But you can look in those cars as see where some of the money goes - not sure that's true of some current Worcesters. And when the trap blocks with dissolved heat exchanger and the overflowing condensate dribbles into the pcb you have to wonder about the design.

Baxi seem to be trying harder - the Main branded ones look good value.
