Afternoon,

In a nutshell, our shower is red hot but the rest of the house is luke warm. The temperature on the boiler is only set to 46 deg as the shower is scalding otherwise but having it this low means that the rest of the house has luke warm water out of the hot taps. I'm pretty sure that the shower is fine as i put a new cartridge in it a short while ago.

Any handy hints or tips would be gratefully appreciated as this is doing my head in!
Regards
Jim

I've just found out what it is.....why i never checked this before is beyond me.........the hot is on the right hand side when it should be on the left. My missus had a 'friend' who plumbed it all in when i was working away from home. Typical. Can anyone recommend a suitable temporary fix to this? We're due to be extending the house later on in the year so i don't want to do any kind of involved work unless i have to!
thanks again!

Can you not alter the shower temperature? It should have a maximum hot setting, which is normally adjustable, and should be nowhere near scalding.

No, i've tried all that. Because it's been plumbed in on the wrong side it goes from freezing cold to red hot with only the slightest turn. No idea what the model is i'm afraid as the other half bought it off flea bay! I'm just trawling sites now to find one that can potentially be turned upside down!
