Valliant EcoTEC plus 824 RI: Heating not working

Hi Ian, that was the situation exactly all last week. I would turn the heating on (at the boiler) the flames would show in the thermostat with the above read out simultaneously on the boiler.

but- it has started to work again.

is there any cause for the boiler not to pick up the thermo intermittently?

The thermostat is wireless. (of the above pics, 41 & 53 are from the thermostat, the others (39, 42) the boiler itself.

Have you checked the batteries in the wireless thermostat?

I don't have a Salus receiver - just the room thermo (attached)

THEN YOU DO HAVE A WIRELESS RECEIVER !!! How do you think the salus thermostat talks to the boiler ?

Follow the cables from below the boiler will probably look like this

"Salus Receiver" - didn't mean much to me.
Assumed the thermostat would be understood as wireless.
glad we got that sorted!

I will replace the batteries - this seems a probable cause here - AND the best outcome possible with heating malfunction.
will update the post if the issue returns with images.
