Varnish for exterior use

Is it possible to change the colour of WBP plywood by stain or wood dye and which is the best?

It is for exterior use so I will then want to cover it with a few coats of yatch varnish.

Is this the best way to go about it or are there any alternatives?

Yaght varnish will not last outside. it will soon break down and allow moisture through which will spoil the wood. Better to use a micropourus finish like Sikkens or sadolin.
