Vauxhall Corsa P reg, automatic 1.4 oil light comes on

Hi

The oil light comes on after driving for around15 miles, 30-40 mins, but there is plenty of oil in the engine, what might the problem be?

Presumably the light just comes on at tickover?
The fault could be a seriously worn engine (crankshaft wear)
A faulty sensor (hope so)
Or even the incorrect grade of engine oil together with an old, blocked oil filter.
Replace the pressure sensor switch - a good, cheap start.

The light comes on at idle or when driving.

More than likely to be the oil pressure switch then
Usually they are screwed into the engine block, close to the filter.

Personally, id get an oil pressure test done on it just to make sure nothing iffy is happening then take it from there.
