I remember the 2003 Iraq invasion and researching this area in great detail at the time.

Is Don & Vlad in bed together or not?
Putin did support him, but Vlad seems to be running out of dictators to be pally with. Only Iran and N.Korea remain in terms of dictators who he can trade with. Now Syria has fallen, and he lost access to their port.
Venezuela did trade with Russia, but obviously its uncertain what will happen now.
