Vent Pipe

I have just noticed what looks like a flexible open ended vent pipe coming out of the top of our roof adjacent to the chimney. This is about two foot long and hangs down along the tiles. We have a normal vented (not sealed or pressurised) central heating and hot water system fired by a natural gas Rayburn.

Any information as to what this might be would be very welcome.

Have you traced the pipe to see what the other end is connected to?

No, not yet, as access to that part of the loft is not easy. However I will try to do this and get back to you. In the meantimeif you do have any ideas I would be very grateful if you could let me know.
