A cold roof is supposed to have ventilation to dry out condensation....BUT........surely if you fit vapour check plasterboard on the ceiling, there won't be any condensation therefore no need for ventilation or am I wrong?

I would assume that some moisture will seep through regardless, especially where wiring penetrates the plasterboard. Ceiling roses aren't airtight.

There is also the possibility of leaks which have to be dried out.
