Hi All

I'd like to fit a ceiling vent/light combo, with an inline centrifugal fan, vented through the soffit.

I have a 1950s purlin roof. The gap between the wall plate and the felt is only 60mm (2 1/2"). What do you guys do in this case?

Can you successfully force the ductwork through without damaging it?

I could vent through the roof but would rather not if possible.

Thanks

You could plug a suitable "adaptor" into the ( 100 mm ? ) pipe and add two smaller pipes ( not sure if you can get 2 x 50 mm ) or buy rectangular piping ( expensive) .

A DIY method would be to heat the pipe with a blow-torch and simply squeeze it down to a size where you can slide it through the soffit. Easy to do, maybe use a suitable piece of wood as a former to give suitably-sized "mouth-piece".
