Advice, please. Having gable end 1920s semi re-rendered, using monocouche. Sorry to ask when this has been discussed before, but I'm weighing up options. Roof is original slate.
Render Companies have suggested 3 options. Is one preferable?
1. No verge installation (presumably take render up to tile edge as now)
2. Dry verge system. Roofer advises two steps. Once old render off install wood to edges ready to attach verge, render applied, then once it's dry install verge. So render company would need to stop work to allow roofer access for step one (and sharing scaffolding can be awkward??)
3. Retrofit slates to create overhang, which involves a few steps I understand, to create correct conditions for tiles to sit on.
