Veritas 8 alarm system

Hi,
I have recently moved into a property with a Veritas 8 alarm. There are 3 pir’s and a door sensor. The system works fine when arming and leaving the property, upon returning and opening the door the alarm sounds and I have approx 30 seconds to put the code in before the alarm sounds fully.
However when I set the alarm at night and I walk down the stairs into the hallway, this pir detects me and the alarms stars screaming immediately offering no 30 second warning to put the code in.
I’m assuming I have to change the entry/exit zone but I’m unsure how to do this. The door is zone 1, the hallway zone 2 other rooms 3/4 etc

Do you press PART at night ?

No I press full
I’ve considered toying with the idea of setting “part” and omitting zone 2

Try part ....then come down ....if it has been programmed correct , this should work

(I thought part set was for instances such as pets left at home and such like)
