Veritas 8 - Help Please

Hi Guyes,

Sorry to trouble you with this again... but would you mind tellimg me how long (on average) it takes to crash and reprogram a Veritas 8.

I am asking as the maintenance chap came back to me and he strongly suggests a replacement.

Many thanks in advance.

Find someone from another company who will do what is necessary to fix, a tamper fault. Tamper fault? Does this guy/company know anything about alarm systems or is he an electrician who likes to 'dabble'?

A tamper fault is NOT a reason for changing a perfectly good control panel.

Tamper fault, TRACE & REPAIR, it's not rocket science.

Hi (again),
I just want to say BIG thank you for all your help/suggestions re my alarm system. It has been sorted out yesterday (for a very good price!).
You were all right saying it would not take long to repare the Tamper light.

I have now managed to study both the installation manual and user guide as I would like to know what I have.

I am happy with (almost everything).
However, there are few things that I would do with some help from an expert. So, I would like to ask you some questions, I hope that is OK.

Question 1. What is a STROBE?

Question 2. I have noticed that the light on the external sounder is RED and GREEN. Is it the correct light? I am asking, as my neighbours light is red only.

Question 3. My zones are programmed as follows:
1=Roar room; 2=Kitchen; 3=Lounge; 4=Dinning room; 5=Hall.
Can I change the sequence of the zones? If yes, how do I do it?

I will be thankful for your help/advice on this.

Many thanks in advance,
Aggie

The strobe is the bright flashing thingy on the outside siren.

Red and green lights is fine, it just depends on the manufacturer.

Why would you want to change the 'sequence'? Whatever that means.

Thank you, joe-90.

Thank you for that.

How can I check this is the manufacturing setting?

Why would you want to change the 'sequence'? Whatever that means.
Good point well made. I just thought it would be nice to know that in case I do want to change it.

Three more questions... I hope that is OK.

Question 1.
Where do I ding (a) internal counders and (b) external sounders?

Question 2:
How do I open the control panel without activating the tamper light/sound?

Question 3:
Where do I buy a spare battery from?

Many thanks in advance[/quote]
