Moving into a new property shortly which has a veritas 8 panel (fitted 2005). I will be removing this panel in order to fit my own alarm so i can have control over the system, engineer codes etc.

I noticed that the power LED on the main panel was flashing green when i last looked around, from experience this doesn't mean its working correctly as i would think this would be a solid green. Anyone comment on what the flashing green means?

Also, when i come to remove the panel and bell box im guessing as soon as i remove the lids that the tamper will set the alarm off. Not ideal to fall out with the new neighbours straight away!! so has anyone any idea how i can prevent it going off without having any of the codes? Last occupiers never used it and dont know the codes.

Regards

Flashing power light ....possibly faulty battery ....removing panel lid will only set off internal sounder , do it in he day ....bell box either put the bell supply on a battery or its a ladder job ...if sab works or is connected

Thanks sparkymarka

So basically its a case of removing the panel lid and disconnecting the battery and the same with the bellbox and that should get me working in silence?

Going to go with texecom panel..........what do you recommend, the veritas elite with the lcd keypad or is the Premier 24 better?

cheers
