Veritas 8Compact external sounder beeping

Hi guys
I have noticed my external alarm as started to beep once every 12 secs.
The alarm still seems to work and set, I have no strange lights on the panel. The alarm box outside as 2 green lights flashing.

I was wondering if this is a signal that the battery could be on its way out.

As anyone any ideas????
