Veritas alarm won't set!

Hi I've just moved in to a property with a veritas alarm and was left no instruction other than the alarm code. Trouble is when I put the code in and press full it just beeps loudly. I've read through a manual online and it says if there's a problem it will beep the amount of times corresponding with the zone, but it's beeping 10 times! All windows and doors are closed when attempting to set.

I know zones 1,2,3,4 correspond with pir in rooms downstairs. When setting PART it omits 5,6,7 but I have no idea what 4 to 8 are.

Anyone any idea what I need to do? Appreciate any advice thanks

Does the unset light flash when you put the code in ?

Yes it does

Also I've tried code and part set and it beeps quietly (exit code?) for about 15 seconds then reverts to the loud beeping, again beeping 10 times, pause, 10 times...

10 bleeps is normally a power issue , probably a faulty battery , is the panel a 8 ( large panel with onboard keypad ) r8 ( small keypad with a large end station ) or compact ?

Hi it's a small keypad and then a large white box high up in the garage which I can't quite get to yet as just moved in and it's crammed with boxes etc! The light is constantly flashing on both units.

Faulty battery , get it replaced ASAP local screwfix should have one ...
