I went up a similar structure, a tower / folly type thing, it's not particualrly high, perhaps 100ft, it was a pretty bright day and blustery day, the wispy clouds were moving rapidly overhead, and I swear the tower was moving with 'em. I honestly nearly threw up.

know what you mean eddie used to work up stacks years ago

as namsag says suddenly you hear the voice

dunno whose tho

Wait till you do the see saw ride of the side of the stratosphere tower in vegas 1100 feet up and you shoot off at around 20mph. . Then the other ride shoots you a further 100 odd feet up

JohnD, gapping gill is a 200ft pothole, somewhat difficult to walk down
until recently the single most deep pothole in britain, till they excavated titan.

prior eldon hole was the second deepest.

I did eldon several times, 180ft if memory serves me

I tried to take up rock climbing, but I suffered from agrophobia, I became gripped when exposed to wide open space.

so i took up potholing, because i couldnt grasp the enormity due to the dark.

eldon was a good abseil but a 30 min bitch to get out of and in broad daylight.

using SRT single rope technique via asecenders, the rope at that distance was stretching 10ft at every move

Well worth a read at THE LANCASHIRE STEEPLEJACK Forum
