I stripped all the old wallpaper from my walls mainly with a steamer, as expected after skimming the origin fine cracks re-appeared.

I've seen some suggestions about opening them up and filling them but there are too many to do that to them all.
Some suggestions about using decorators caulk but they are very fine, I worry the caulk wont get deep enough in there if at all with the really fine ones and I'll be back to square one after painting.
I've seen the polycell basecoat stuff and there own brand diall alternative.
Are these any good and can they be used only on the actual crack, applied evenly or do you have to do the whole wall in it for an even finish?

I did give the walls a mis-coat first about 4 weeks after the plastering.

Easifill is a great product. I have just stripped our bedroom to the original plaster and will be filling the fine cracks with easifill.

It is made my the plasterer manufacturers and is expensive, but does a great job. I am not a P and D though, just diyer. They may have some better suggestions.
