Very interesting video

He's certainly interesting, but I'm not sure I agree with a fair amount of what he's saying. The main thing to remember, is that he might not be completely impartial... ;)

He's a self - declared car enthusiast, with an expensive garage by the looks of it.

Like it or not, fuel is inefficient, even if it will no longer run out (through sustainability).

And IC engines are complex and, in the case of the cars behind him, needy of expensive care and attention.

And, his story is all about the "legacy" manufacturers who have "lost" £65b.
Although I doubt it is lost: that R&D remains.

I wouldn't have an EV as a track car, but I also would no longer have an ICE car as my daily driver. As I've always said, horses for courses.

Legacy manufacturers turned out a selection of EVs which were total crap and overpriced. Unsurprisingly they didn't sell well.

Those manufacturers which have recognised the error will be making better EVs in future. Ford possibly.
Others such as Stellantis who believe that a big swerve back to combustion engine vehicles is their saviour will find out soon enough.
Then there are all of the Japanese makers such as Toyota and Honda who never really bothered with EVs at all, and for them it's already too late.
Nissan might survive, but even they fumbled badly despite being ahead of everyone else originally.

That sustainable fuel lot isn't actually that bad - it is marketed as being for vintage and racing purposes, so for niche markets in tiny quantities, which is exactly all it will ever be for.

Yes, with the possible exception of BMW, I think many of the legacy manufacturers have been a bit half-arsed in their attempts. That will end badly for them. Every day they waste, is a day the Chinese get further ahead of them.

And yes, sustainable fuel is great - if you don't mind paying £20-a-gallon! As you say, fine for expensive sports cars and classics, not so good for your average "daily"! The thing is, Harry used to be quite into EVs, up until Sustain started letting him have barrels of fuel at a very attractive price...
