video editing software

I've recently downloaded a free video editing package to the tablet (android) but frankly it's awful and fiddly and doesn't seem to want to know my videos. So I'm looking at a PC solution instead. If there are no free software packages I'm willing to spend a little bit of money up to £50. It needs to be compatible with itunes files for the soundtrack. Any ideas?
