Vinyl flooring.. feature wall in kitchen?

Someone recently showed me some modern vinyl flooring, and to be honest I was amazed at how good it was, so much, Im probably going to ditch the QuickStep laminate I was going to order for the living room and hallway, and go with vinyl instead.

Looking at some of the desings, they could lend themselves to application of a wall, say for example, feature wall in a kitchen... or is this just a bit bonkers?

You may laugh but the previous occupant in my flat has put tile-style vinyl on the walls as fake tiling above the counter top.

It does wipe down very well.
