I have the Visonic powermax complete alarm which rings me when my alarm goes off. When the copper network gets switched off what will happen to my alarm, will it be rendered as useless.
I’m with virgin media. My alarm is hard wired in our garage and our hub is in the living room. I’m wondering if it’s worth just taking out the whole system and replacing it with a smart one I can use via an app on my mobile

Yes.

The Visonic PowerMax Complete systems are dated and basic in comparison to more recent systems.

There are some hacks and adapters that *MAY* work to keep the dialler in your alarm working but you really want to be looking at upgrading to something with an IP or 4G communicator which will either work with FTTP or on it's own.

Assuming your system is mostly wireless, a Texecom Premier Elite 64-W and a SmartCom 4G is a comparable replacement to look at.

Good morning, the Powermax alarm you have can have a module installed to use it on the app as you require, it needs a Powerlink 3 module. Assuming panel is version is compatible.
