Hi all
I have had a Rubi ND1200 cutter for years- to date it had only been used to cut ceramic and limestone, ie fairly soft materials.
I recently helped a mate to cut his porcelain tiles. My original blade was suffering with the full length cuts (approx 400mm long), so he popped out to get a new blade. He picked up a vitrex blade from Tile Depot.
That blade seemed to wear pretty quickly. If I were guessing it drop to 60% efficiency after 3 long cuts and stayed at about that level for the next 5 cuts.
I have some travertine to cut soon which I guess is pretty soft but the client might opt for marble instead.
For the sake of speed I am probably gonna get a new blade.
I don't mind paying £70 for a Rubi blade but am unsure if it is twice as good as the Vitrex which is half the price.
Any one have experience of both?
