Vivaro 1.9DTI 2003 83,000, stopped in car park. 1/2 hour later went to start van and after glow light had gone off nothing happens when key turned fully. Checked battery, connections all ok. Bump started van and ran without problem so got van home. Still has problem, cannot start van, does everything as normal except nothing on final key turn, not even a starter clunk or solenoid whir. Any thoughts gratefully appreciated as van has been impeccable up to now.

Starter motors do have a finite life, they do fail after so long, or it could be as simple as a detached / damaged wire to the starter solenoid, if as Peter.N. states the panel lights do dim, then you are possibly looking at a jambed starter motor.

I would also suspect the starter motor, to check connect a voltmeter to the small terminal on the starter solonoid, if it shows 12 volts when you turn to the start position - its the starter.
