Vokera 20-80 R.S. Flowmatic Problems

Hi, can anyone help. I have a Vokera 20-80 R.S. Flowmatic in my house and have been having a problem with it over the past few months.

Basically when I put the shower on the boiler chugs away, gets to 80 degrees then trips out and drops to 20 degrees before it kicks in and starts to heat up again. Basically 3 minutes hot, 3 minutes cold and so forth!!

It's driving me insane, can anyone help or advise?

When was the last time it was properly serviced?

Not that long ago although it was through my dads mate who owns a plumbing company. So as for whether it was a competent service, I doubt it!!

A proper service on this boiler cures (almost) all ills

These boilers are not very forgiving when they don’t get cleaned out properly on a regular basis. This fault on this type boiler can come from a dirty flue

I think that any boiler which will run for about 10 years without any proper service is very forgiving!
