Ok. I accept scale is only from hard water
In my post I used the wrong word, deposit would have been more appropriate till you mentioned vivianite ( not a word I will forget easily - thanks)
so, no scaling, but deposit which is vivianite.
Would agree deposit or Vivianite does reduce efficiency in a boiler if it allowed to build up?

Its horrible stuff Dan , I was cleaning a vokera heat exchanger and a speck got in my eye, didnt think much about it, next day I was in agony went to hospital and had to have a small op, they removed the eyeball and cleaned it , they told me I was very lucky not to lose the eye
