I have a 7 year old Maxin 28E. Have had a very slight water leak for a few months on LHS (round brass object with two narrow silver pipes). I am now getting infrequent hot water, Heating is ok.
Is this a diaphragm problem?
Is there any recommended repairers in Airdrie area.

Sounds like diaphraghm.

Is leak really on left?

Tony

Definately on left. The round brass housing looks to be secured into main fitting with screws securing shaft. The leak appears to be coming from this joined connection.
I'm sorry i'm being not to clear about this.
Is the diaphragm in this housing??.
Can I tackle this myself?
Thanks
Robert

Yes the diaphragm is in there.
You will need to clean out the small tubes that connect into the housing as well.
If the water leaks out while the tap is running it will be the tiny "o" ring in the stuffing box.(the bit where the pin pushes out).
If it leaks all the time and the pressure is dropping then it will be leaking from the diverter tail piece.

Its an easy job but if you are not confident get someone in.
