We have a Vokera Option boiler. About 9 months ago we had a pool of water under the boiler. After drying it up we had no further problems until recently. It’s a rented flat and the landlord had the boiler serviced two weeks ago, the engineer said he raised the system pressure from 0.5bar to 1 bar. Anyway yesterday morning we woke up to a pool of water under the boiler again. Luckily we were able to get the engineer out again and he says the pressure was ok and the water was coming from inside the combustion chamber. He removed the heat exchanger and examined it for leaks with a strong magnifying glass, and said it was ok. He says the water must have come in from outside, through the flue. We woke up this morning to another small pool. Does this sound likely that water would come in from the outside? It did rain the last couple of nights but nothing unusual in that, because it has rained regularly over the last 9 months. We are in a second story flat and the end of the flue sticks out through the wall by a couple of inches. Wouldn’t everyone get rain in their boiler if this was the problem?

possibly it has never been installed correctly, the flue is supposed to drop approx. 1 degree to the outlet, if it is level or sloping the other way it is very possible for water to find it's way into the boiler.
