Boiler was installed January 2008 to our home, end terrace with boiler flue fitted to outside wall, heavy/winds rain over the winter resulted in rain gettin in through the flue and knackerin the boiler, under warranty vokera sent engineers a few times over a few days and eventually got it sorted, no problems since then until now, heavy winds/rain same problem, british gas out same problem rain water gettin in 2 flue, fixed boiler and away he went, said the problem would probably keep happening due to location of flue on exterior driving wall. He mentioned something about vokera nuisance flue? Any ideas? Or will we have to try to have the boiler removed and refitted elsewere (£££££), your help is appreciated, thanks.

He was possibly meaning a "Plume diversion Flue" as is fitted to some condensing chb's.

Not sure if Vokera do them though. Seen them on Worcesters boiler installs. Unless there are any Vokera eng's on here I would suggest contacting Vokera direct for an answer....................

Alot of plume diversion kits will only alter the inner flues position/direction which on an HE boiler wouldnt help matters much as water in the inner flue will run down the condensate anyway.

Its some sort of rain gaurd for the outer flue most likely required which as said worster do but ive never seen one on a vokera

as said give them a ring and see what they can offer

This is coming to light more and more and there is not a lot can be done about it.
Flues on condensing boilers are designed to fall back to the boiler because of the condense they produce. Unfortunately the air intake also has to fall back which is open to the inside workings.
Worcs are the only manu i know who offer a rain guard.
Vertical may be the only solution if possible as the rain can't normally get down a vertical flue.
