VW Jetta 07 1.9 TDi Brake Problem 51,000 miles

When I brake, it feels like there is a high spot on the discs. At higher speed this causes a bit of a judder, but when coasting up to traffic lights, it feels like the pads are catching a high spot then a low spot.

Garage said they took a look at brakes but couldn't see any problems, but my theory is disc or discs are worn or even warped

Any ideas?

I think your diagnosis is very likely to be correct - its possible to use a dial gauge to really check the discs for trueness but often its easier to fit new ones. At your mileage there will be a fair bit of corrosion too.
