I have changed the vaccum pump, there is also new brakes on van, none of the cylinders are leaking , none of the pipes are leaking. i haven't lost any fluid... But brakes are still NOT working tidy... Anybody out there that can help me... Would really appreciate help..pulling my hair out now... :?

What do you mean? Brake pedal hard, soft, vehicle not stopping Etc. Just so we can get an idea and suggest something.

Brakes will stop me..But when stopped pedal goes down to the floor... Thank you for answering my problem... 1st time on here so thought i had put all info down sorry!!!

Just a few tests:
Start up, press the brake pedal hard after pumping it a few times. Does it continue to gently sink to the floor? If so, this is a master cylinder issue.
If the brake pedal feels firm, but has too much travel, then the brakes need adjusting. Front discs do this on their own - as do rear ones - but rear drum brakes can be helped.
If the pedal travel is excessive and feels spongy a bit, then this means air in the system.
To test the servo, engine off, pump the brake pedal until it rises to the top. Keep pressure on, and start up. The pedal should sink a little.
John :)

Sounds like the master cylinder..... Will try that.... and will write back to let you know the outcome... thank you to all that replied.....

A new master cylinder, when fitted, can be bled from the top, rather from the caliper nipples which are several miles away......which is probably just as well considering the wrecks that I work on from time to time. Often the nipples are long gone
Change the brake fluid every two years, sir? Yeah, right :P
John :)
