VW Passat Turbo Diesel 98 90bhp Loss of power at 75mph

When I accelerate up to approx 75 mph there is a distinct loss of power as if the turbo has stopped working.
It only happens in 5th gear so I dont think the RPM rate is the key.
It happened about 1 year ago but I thought it was a dirty injector problem and I got rid of it with STP. This time that has not worked.
Can anyone suggest anything else.[/b]

Ideally need to get any fault codes read from the ecu.
Has it been serviced lately? particularly diesel filter.

The diesel filter has not been changed for some time so I'll start by doing that.

Probably the mass air meter. They cost around £70 and take around 15 minutes to fit.
