I defrosted the car this morning and tried the wipers, the back one worked but the front didn't,i replaced the rear wiper fuse with the front one to check it was a fuse problem(both 15 amp and seperate slots)and it moved about 2 inch and stopped again,i swapped the fuses back over and now no wipers work at all.Could it be dodgy fuses or are they blowing due to a fuseboard fault

The wiper motor has a built in overload protection cutout switch (thermal
cutout).

Let the motor cool down, as the switch is inside the motor housing this
make take a while.

Remove any load on the blades (wet the windscreen) and you should be OK

Do let us know if this works for you?

if the above post doesnt work, then maybe the spindles have seized hence the reason why they may be over heating.
there may be a way of re greasing them while still attached to the car??,maybe a dedicated forum will be a good place to help you.
