Hi,
I have bought some of these Wago connectors to connect 6mm cables in a junction box on a cooker circuit.

I am getting a good connection in most cases but a couple of stranded wires just do not fit very well, and have come loose, while wrestling everything into a Wago junction box.

Should I consider crimping a bootlace ferrule on the ends of the problematic wires?

If so, would something like these do the trick?

What type of 6mm are you talking about here? If it's stranded get the Ferrules for sure

A ferrule will make it bigger and then it wont fit the wagos, for a high current joint your better with a 60 amp JB, if its accessible.
