I have just bought a new house and I'm renovating it, under three of the windows are cracks, the windows have been replaced fairly recently, prior to me buying the property... Are these any cause for concern?

Are there corresponding cracks on the outside?

Not on one of them the others are covered in tyrolean/render outside..
What could have caused these and whats the best way to treat them can I just plaster over them or will they crack again?

I also have a small crack running up a wall in the front room, from bottom to top, very narrow on outside wall internal brickwork.. I showed someone and they mentioned it could be settlement..

Is that a concrete wall?

Either way, it's not settlement it's thermal ie contraction. Search for helical bar repair

What causes thermal contraction and is a helical repair necessary? What would happen if left, seems strange up and downstairs windows have been replaced front and back and they all have a crack under each window..

Well the cracks look old. And if the wall is concrete, typical.

Thermal cracks are caused by the local environment - moisture and heat

Changing windows can change the environment

Helical bars stabilise a moving wall
