Hello,

I need to fit a curtain pole that will hold long, thick curtains that weigh about 8kg. I think the wall is dot and dab plaster onto block.

What wall fixings should I use to support the weight? There are so many available and I am easily confused!

drill through the plasterboard into the wall behind, and use a long screw. You might be able to poke the plasplug well into the hole on the end of the screw, if not, use frame fixings.

the plug and the screw both need to go into the block or brick at least 30mm, disregard any length in air or plaster.
