The earth is connected at the switch.
Maybe they cut the earth back at the wall light because it did not need an earth ?
I have had a new kitchen with electrics removed & replace elsewhere in the kitch.
After the work was completed the electricain then had to carry out electrical test with a meter and switched things on and off etc then wrote the reading down from what was shown on the meter.
He then issued a certificate in a couple of weeks time.
Would this then not have passed if anything was wrong or incorrect.
