In the past I've only ever installed them in stud walls. What I want to do is fit one to a sold wall. Is it possible to chop out a channel that the fixing frame fits into, then do the same for the hot/cold pipes like you do with a shower and similarly with the waste? I know it would be messy using a grinder to cut the slots - but has anyone ever done it? Can you just fit the bits in the slots you cut and tile over them leaving the necessary supply/waste pipes sticking out of the wall so that you fit the basin and couple it up? Not keen on making a stud wall as they always feel cheap and hollow. Any ideas anyone? Cheers.
