I moved into my little house about almost a year ago. I've noticed that some of the paint is flaking off the bathroom wall and my friend traced some damp to the airing cupboard next to it. When we peeled the paint off, the brick behind it was dry. The paint was only painted onto a 'skin' (I don't know if this means anything to anyone).
In the airing cupboard there is a redundant pipe which the previous owners say belonged to an old-fashioned cylinder boiler so we think it's likely that the damp is coming from this. The floor was a bit damp so we have taken up the wood to try and dry this out - what is my next step please? Should I get in a plumber, or a damp specialist?
Thank you very much for any help you can give!
