Hi all, as above, but before building regs are approved, above the wall is just floor joist's overlapping which were supported by the wall coming out, questions, would we have to bolt a wooden plate on top of the r.s.j. and nail existing joist's to it, just want to get everything prepared ready! Also would it be better to shim every joist with r.s.j. in, or prop r.s.j. up tight to joist's and shim the r.s.j. Thanks for your time. Just realised this might be in wrong section, sorry if is!!

A structural engineer would advise accordingly. Alternatively, put the question to your BCO as they may prefer to see it done one particular way. We had a similar situation and the BCO advised his preferred method, which the contractor adopted.

The joists can just sit on the beam if you wish and this is how we would do it.

We would fix the joists together where they over-lap and fit solid bridging between.
