I need to extend my suspended floor into the extension. New section span is approximately 2m. The 4x2 joists will span between 2 sleeper walls. A few questions before I start;

1) Do I sit the new joists along side the existing and leave independent from each other or should i screw them together
2) At the end of the new sleeper wall do i just sit them on the plate or nail down
3) There is approximately 2-3mm difference in height between the new and existing joists. Should i just pack the new with plastic shims where they meet the old or sit on a thin bed of mortar?

Thanks in advance

Thanks both. I can now proceed. The span between sleeper walls is actually I bit less than 2m maybe closer to 1.8m. I plan to also install at 400 centres in this area which should also help
