These ties from Staifix are possibly the worst I've ever used

They look nice and neat in the box, but from then its downhill. They ...

tangle themselves together as soon as you cut the tape and try and get one out the box
tangle themselves together when you just lay a few next to each other
drop and fall magically by themselves when laid in the bed on one skin
snag your clothes at each opportunity
snag the line when it comes within a few inches

Why the hell the makers don't just bend the damn ends around to close the loop I don't know.

So avoid any tie that looks like the above, and have a stress-free building experience

No, I'm sure it's his computer. He should get rid of the Commodore 64
and get a more up-to-date one.
He's right about the ties, though.

+1 - its a shame that they are so conveniently stocked everywhere!!! No matter how hard you try....

there fine your just not used to working with them!!!!!

You can get rounded heads on them lol

Ok, this may sound like a silly question (never done any bricklaying myself) but........I understand that metal wall ties eventually fail after time through rust/corrosion, so.......why do they not make them out of plastic? Surely it would be as cheap and as strong and would last for ever?

We used to use plastic ties on new build housing years ago. It does last as there is no UV exposure to degrade the plastic, and they were BBA approved. I've not seen any for a while, but that's just because I have not looked

yep they are a right pain in the arse they fall through the scaffold easily as well, not sure what happened to plastic ties havnt used them for 20yrs now :D
