What is the most effective way to stick down some wallpaper edges that my children have lifted away,is there something more effective than ordinary wallpaper paste?

Get a small tub of ready mixed border adhesive. This is much stronger than normal paste. Gently lift the edge of the paper back and rub some underneath. Stick it back and wipe over with a damp cloth.

small tub  get a tube of overlap adhesive and save some pennies ;)

No, its thin enough, just brush under the raised edges , wait for a few minutes for it to go tacky then smooth down with a seam-roller or thumb and wipe off the excess with a damp cloth..
Border adhesive has PVA as its main ingredient & is probably the best choice though
